Whether you are re-entering the workforce after a few months or a few years, the Moms Back to the Workforce series is a perfect way to get the skills you need to be focused, confident, and successful in your job search.

Moms Back to the Workforce will provide you the best tips and strategies essential to re-entering the workforce including how to assess your skills, set your job search strategy, develop a powerful resume and compelling personal brand, network successfully, and nail an interview.

Session 1:  Determine Your Skills and Life Goals, and Learn Strategies for Succeeding as a Mom at Work
A comprehensive understanding of your skills, experiences, and life goals is integral to a successful job search and success on the job. In this session, we will guide you through a proven skills assessment exercise that will help you discover your unique strengths and attributes. and identify career tracks to focus on. We will also guide you through an exercise for uncovering a better understanding of your life goals and experiences, and how these relate to the best career choice and work approach for you. We will also help you take this solid knowledge of your skills and life goals and use it as a foundation for learning what can make you stand out in the eyes of recruiters and potential employers. Traci and Robin will wrap this session with a presentation on the best practices for succeeding on the job, and suggestions for navigating the often challenging demands of career and home.

Session 2 - Set Your Job Search Strategy, Create Your Personal Brand, Optimize LinkedIn and Network Like a Pro

The secret to getting the job you want boils down to smart networking and a compelling personal brand - this is the special sauce that makes you stand out in a sea of qualified candidates. In the first part of this session, you will create a personal brand that tells your story and conveys your value. Plus, you'll get guidance on the tricky issue of how best to describe your time off as part of your story, and how to showcase your brand in all your online and offline activities. You will master techniques for making yourself memorable in conversation as well as learn the best way to connect online, ask for a meeting, and talk to strangers at a networking event. Part two of this session will provide you with strategies to create a stellar LinkedIn profile so that your experience shines and gets the attention of recruiters and hiring managers. LinkedIn is a powerful networking platform and you will learn tips for using it like a pro to get the introductions, referrals, and meetings you want, even with people you don't know. Finally, since it is important to keep yourself motivated throughout the uncertainty of a job search, this session will teach you how to create a job search roadmap and track your success.

Session 3: Create a Professional Resume, Interview Confidently, and Negotiate Well

Did you know the average amount of time a recruiter reviews your resume is 6 seconds? In this session you will learn dos and don’ts of creating your resume and how to get your resume noticed in the never ending stack. This session will give you knowledge on how to focus your resume on key areas, that showcase your skills, experience and personal brand. You are encouraged to bring a copy of your resume for one on one feedback after the session. Part two of the session will focus on techniques to ace phone and in person interviews - with tips and advice on presentation, enthusiasm, and preparation. By understanding what hiring managers are looking for in a candidate, you will learn how to stand out among the competition. Finally, since negotiation is both an art and a science, you will learn how to understand fair market value, and the best strategies for negotiating an offer to your advantage.
